I think dogs are easier to train than cockateils...but I guess I'm biased. I've never had a dog draw blood for me, but my x-gf's cockateil did. I guess that's why she's my x. How about "Spot" as a name...or maybe "Lucifer", or "Satan." Oops sorry, those slipped out. Obviously I have some issues with our feathered friends.

Post Joke

Bush got a coded message from Saddam. It read: 370HSSV-0773H Bush was stumped and sent for the CIA. The CIA was stumped too, so it went to the NSA. The NSA couldn't solve it either, so they asked Bill Clinton. He suggested turning it upside down ...

It will be hard to tell if you actually end up with a male cockateil or not. Birds arn't the easiest things in the world to sex. You should have a vet do it if you really want to know for sure. As a rule, I don't believe all breeders or pet store owners.

I've had a cockateil before.. i'm not sure what gender the bird was, but we just called 'em a male. His name was "Tweety"

He wasn't all that great at talking, but he sure could sing that Andy Griffith theme song..

good luck with your new birdie and make sure you do lots of research.

edit: need name ideas? Look at one of those baby name books/websites..

You can tell a parakeets sex by looking at their nostrils but I do not know about cockatiels
